Star Combo Pharma CEO Su Zhang Wins 2020 Australia China Alumni Award for Entrepreneurship & Innovation

The 2020 Australia China Alumni Awards Ceremony was held, with great success, on Saturday, 28 November, in ten cities across China and Australia. With a revitalised format, it was the first time the Australia China Alumni Awards has been held outside China on the same day.

Approximately 300 guests attended across the ten cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shenyang in China, and Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Darwin in Australia), to celebrate excellence in Australian tertiary education and recognise the significant achievements of Australian-educated alumni in China. Attendees included outstanding alumni, senior Australian government officials, university representatives, and representatives from the Australia-China corporate community. The Awards Ceremony was opened with a warm online welcome by ACAA’s patron, His Excellency Mr Graham Fletcher, the Australian Ambassador to China.

This year, we’re delighted to announce Star Combo Pharma’s CEO, Su Zhang, was selected as the winner of the Australia China Alumni Award for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. An innovative leader, Su’s passion to create better solutions and outcomes in the health and wellbeing sector has always been evident during her tenure as CEO at Star Combo Pharma.

Under Su’s leadership, Star Combo Pharma has experienced steady organic revenue growth and achieved important milestones including:

• Successful listing of the company on the ASX in 2018.
• A recently completed private placement of $33M – welcoming a large investment company as a strategic and significant shareholder.
• Securing the purchase of a new 20,000 square meter factory site where 13 new production lines will be installed along with a research and development centre – the aim of this deal is to ensure the company is able to expand our manufacturing capabilities to become Australia’s leading manufacturer in the health supplement space.
• Becoming a TGA certified soft capsule manufacturer, resulting in the company now having a full set of TGA certification qualifications including powder, liquid, soft capsule, hard capsule, and gummy vitamins.
• Setting up a major partnership with Terry White Chemist, giving them exclusive rights to sell the companies ‘Living Healthy’ brand.
